Genius Rock Lyrics
It was October in St. Louis town
When we heard that the Freebird had fell to the ground
We all said a prayer before we went down
To play…

It was October in St. Louis town
When we heard that the Freebird had fell to the ground
We all said a prayer before we went down
To play…

Have you gotten Frumpy lately? Enjoy Inga and her Hamburg-rocking counterparts as they crank it out. Her voice should mesmerize you until the Hammond B-3 solo that will make you ask what you've been doing for the last forty years.
Reaching number 18 on the singles charts in 1977, you know it, you love it. Enjoy the show.
It wasn't very large
There was just enough room to cram the drums
In the corner over by the Dodge
It was a fifty-four
With a mashed-up door.
And a cheesy little amp
With a sign on the front said
"Fender Champ"
And a second-hand guitar
It was a Stratocaster with a whammy bar.
Released this day in 1979, the monumental double album known as "The Wall" by prog rockers Pink Floyd revealed darkly neurotic undertones when given a deeper examination. "We don't need no education" came blaring out of some dude's car with a killer stereo during my formative high school years, and I've been hooked ever since.
Here come old flattop, he come grooving up slowly
He got joo-joo eyeball, he one holy roller
He got hair down to his knee
Got to be a joker, he just do what he please.
You can't have any pudding if you don't eat your meat! How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?
This is from a post I did last year at my old blog that no one read. Now, I autopost to posterous so no one can read it on Facebook, Twitter and the like. I also have a few good links embedded in the old post. RIP, Keith Moon!

"Hey, Ayatollah, leave those kids alone!" I don't know, but it doesn't seem to have the same ring to it. And, by the way, you can't have any pudding if you don't eat your meat!
I'm not sure I get this, but in the interest of preserving those priceless album collections, I am posting this for any and all vinyl fanatics. I think the better way to go is to digitize these things, but that itself can be a time-consuming task. This seems both crazy and painful, and in the end, does it even work?
Today is Mick's 67th. Can't really say much more than that. HB to you, Mr. Jagger!
I been walking Central Park
Singing after dark
People think I'm crazy.
Stumbling on my feet
Shuffling through the street
Asking people, "What's a matter witchoo, boy?"
Sometime I say Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh oooh.
I keep forgettin' we're not in love anymore... Anyone attending tonight to see Florissant's favorite son?
Happy Birthday, Carlos Santana!
Oye como va mi ritmo, Bueno pa gozar mulata (lyrics by Tito Puente).
Oye! (Oir means to hear, this conjugation of oir is the command for Listen! in Spanish)
Como Va (How goes it)
Mi Ritmo (My rhythm)
Bueno (Good)
Pa' (The slang word for the Spanish word for Para which means For)
Gozar (To enjoy/enjoying)
Mulata (Mulatto)
The reference to mulata is analogous to different types of music.
"Hey! Check out my rhythm! It's good to listen to, a blend of African and Spanish rhythms" or "We are united in music."
Oye como va mi ritmo, Bueno pa gozar mulata.
"Funky Claude was running in and out, pulling kids out the ground."
This promises to be quite a show. Klaus Voormann is a name you may not know, but he's one of the great session bass players. He's played with most of the Beatles individually, Manfred Mann, Lou Reed, Carly Simon and Harry Nilsson. In addition to being a famous musician, he's also a graphic designer and drew the famed Revolver cover for the Beatles.
Bob Mayo on the keyboard, Bob Mayo!
Ringo has made some fantastic music since the Beatles. Still one of my favorite albums of all time, his 1973 masterpiece "RINGO" is loaded with classic rock tunes that feature all the Beatles (though none of them playing or writing all together) and many great session musicians. Happy Birthday to Sir Richard Starkey!
"I'm the Greatest" was written by John Lennon for Ringo. It was as close as they ever got to a Beatles reunion. Starr is on lead vocals and plays drums, Lennon plays piano and sings harmony and George Harrison is on guitar; Billy Preston on organ and Klaus Voormann on bass.
I was in the greatest show on Earth,
For what it was worth.
Now I'm only thirty-two;
And all I wanna do, is boogaloo!
When I was a little boy way back home in Liverpool, my mama told me I was great.
Mama-se, mama-sa, mama-ku-sa!
